VWL is accessible by air, road and a train transfer. If coming from Nairobi, you can take a charter flight to Voi airstrip which is 15 minutes away from the lodge, or take the Madaraka express train to Mtito Andei which will take about 4.5hrs and a 15 minutes road transfer from the train station to the lodge. Why VWL??

Get up close encounters with the African Elephant

Whilst staying at VWL, the wildlife will come to you this time. There is a waterhole just across the dinning area where herds of Elephants gather to quench their thirst. Be sure to experience great game viewing just an arm stretch away.

Extreme R&R

All rooms have spacious en-suite bathrooms and are furnished in African decor that is replicated throughout the lodge. The luxury rooms comprise two four-poster beds and views of the Savannah, which one can enjoy from the comfort of one’s balcony or terrace.

What to do

Game drives within Tsavo National Park

For a complete safari experience, you may choose to go on a full day game drive within Tsavo East National Park. Tsavo East boasts many interesting aspects including the spine of the Yatta Plateau, one of the world’s longest lava flows. An additional attraction is the Athi River flanked by stately doum palms which near the Manyani gate forms the Lugard Falls, a long stretch of rippling white water cataracts and a favorite haunt for sunbathing crocodiles

During your game drive you will be lucky to encounter the red elephants of the region, cheetahs, girraffes, lions, rhinos, buffaloes, leopards and a wide variety of birdlife.

Sundowners within Tsavo East National Park

There’s no better way to end a Safari than with a beautiful sundowner. After a full day of game viewing, you can relax and watch as the sun goes down with a Gin & tonic in hand.

Swimming

With temperatures in the day average 25 degrees, the lodge offers two swimming pools and you can take the afternoons relaxing by the pool with a drink in your hand or in the pool to cool off the harsh temperatures.

A few notes

Respect the local people and their cultures. Make sure to get consent before taking pictures with/of them.

Whilst in National Parks, adhere to the Kenya Wildlife Service code of conduct

Respect wildlife, this is their home and you are just visiting.

Most importantly collect memories only and leave no trace.
