Let us fly you around East Africa’s absolute best, from the city sky crappers to the home of African Elephants, the highest mountain, the greatest journey on earth, beautiful scenery, and great hospitality.
This incredible 10 days/ 9 nights itinerary packs in Kenya’s best parks well known for large herds of elephants, conservation areas that will allow you to track the big cats on foot, search for the big 5 either in a 4×4 safari Landcruiser or on horseback to majestic views of the continents highest mountain and the premier national reserve – the matchless Maasai Mara which will offer you an incredible opportunity to witness nature’s greatest journey here on earth. Whilst on safari if you are more adventurous may we kindly suggest taking a hot air balloon ride against a backdrop of stunningly beautiful sunrises, this will give you a bird’s eye view of the abundant wildlife below. Lastly, just as you prepare to return to the lodge after a full day of game viewing, fun, and adventure do not forget that you could always gather around and watch the African sun sink below the horizon with a G&T in hand.
Day 1-2: Nairobi and Amboseli National Park
Upon touchdown at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be transferred to your city hotel in a comfortable 7-seater air-conditioned vehicle. The drive from JKI Airport to Hemingways Nairobi takes about 45 minutes. You will spend your first night at this luxurious 5* boutique hotel, located in Nairobi’s leafy suburbs – Karen. This lovely property overlooks the dramatic hills at Ngong, the rooms are superbly spacious each with a private balcony offering majestic views.

What to do in Nairobi
Before you head onto safari, whilst in Nairobi, you can either meet, kiss or feed the endangered Rothschild giraffe at the Giraffe Centre or a dash to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Centre where you will meet the rescued Elephant calves and learn more about the conservation efforts. What’s more, you can visit any of the restaurants and feed your taste buds with scrumptious meals.
You may also visit the Nairobi National Park to get a glimpse of what an African safari would feel like. During game viewing the NNP, you will encounter Impalas running around the open plains of the savanna, giraffes towering over the acacia trees, and perhaps zebras stopping you along the way to a rare sighting of Africa’s black rhino. A rather fascinating fact: This is the only park in the World that is in close proximity to a city and the major highlight around here is the backdrop of the city sky crappers – this is truly insta-worthy, and it will definitely tempt you to send a postcard back home a little too early 🙂

Day 2-4: Amboseli National Park
After breakfast at Hemingways, your driver will be waiting to transfer you to Wilson airport for your local flight into Amboseli National Park. The flight will take approximately 45 minutes directly from Wilson airport, Nairobi to Amboseli airstrip, after arrival your driver/guide will collect you and transfer you to Tortilis camp where you are booked for 3 nights.
Named after the flat-topped umbrella thorn tree acacia Tortilis, this gorgeous camp offers a better view of Africa’s majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Whilst here, you will come across the largest herds of African Elephants. We recommend you keep your cameras handy! Tortilis is located within a private conservancy, therefore, offering you the guest top-notch exclusivity. Moreover, you can enjoy endless game-viewing opportunities within the conservancy and inside the Amboseli National Park
The lodge offers a private house and family tent separate from the main camp featuring a shared private pool and stunning views of Kilimanjaro. , if you fancy traveling as a pack and wish to stay together this is perfectly designed just for you. There is nothing quite like soaring to your next home, Loisaba tented camp is my very favorite in Northern Kenya, t is perfectly situated within a private conservancy (Loisaba Conservation area), and beautifully perched on the edge of an escarpment. Upon arrival at Lewa airstrip, you will be collected in a 4×4 safari Landcruiser and transferred to camp with a brief game drive en route. Whilst staying here, you will be contributing positively to the eco-tourism triangle.

Just like the name hints the camp sits on the migration route where thousands of wildebeests, a number of zebras and Thompson gazelles move between the Maasai Mara, Kenya, and the Serengeti of Tanzania every year. You will also enjoy the honor of exclusive views of the Mara plains and hills dotted with a variety of wildlife as well as getting the front row seat to the crossing, all from the comfort of the camp
